One man was killed and three others injured, after a petty argument over a children’s cricket match escalated into a full-blown shooting spree between two groups in Dhoke Abbasi near Tarnol on Friday.



According to the police, two groups of Pashtuns originally from Mohmand Agency, settled in Dhoke Abbasi, opened fire at each other, resulting in the death of 25-year-old Muhammad Shafiq.


Shafiq’s brother Asif, and a member of the rival group, Muhammad Zeeshan, were wounded in the chest during the firing and are in critical condition. They are being treated at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), said the police.


The police also stated that Shafiq’s father, Mohabbat Khan, who allegedly opened fire during the clash, was also injured but is now in a stable condition.


The clash started over a dispute related to a cricket match, but the exact cause has not been ascertained by the police yet.
