Trading centre: Market to be shifted to Lakhodair

The market will have access to Ring Road.

LAHORE: The city government held a meeting with traders of Akbari Mandi on Thursday to discuss the plan to shift the market to Lakhodair. The government has also issued a notification for acquisition of 1,098.2 kanals land and has allocated Rs350 million to buy it. While the PC-1 for it has been approved, the funds are yet to be released. The government has also allocated Rs96 million for consultancy firms to design the market. Market Secretary Tauqeer Sindhu said they have planned to shift the market this year. The market will have access to Ring Road. This market would be provided shops and warehouses for 1,200 traders.
