LAHORE:

Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan of the Lahore High Court on Monday summoned the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) chief executive for February 3 on a contempt of court petition.

Shahzad Shafqat Rana, the petitioner, has accused the chief executive of not complying with the court’s order to address his grievances within the stipulated time.  Counsel for the petitioner had earlier requested the court to direct the LESCO to release Rana’s salaries.

The court had disposed of the petition on October 14, 2013, giving the LESCO chief executive three days to address the petitioner’s grievances.

Rana later filed a contempt of court petition against the chief executive accusing him of not complying with the court’s orders. The court, after hearing the arguments, summoned the LESCO chief executive on February 3 to explain why he had not complied with the orders.
