Trying Musharraf

Bottom line is that General (retd) Pervez Musharraf violated Constitution and must, therefore, bear the consequences.

LAHORE:
This is apropos the article “The politics of economy” (January 25) by Shahzad Chaudhry. As you sow so shall you reap. The bottom line is that General (retd) Pervez Musharraf violated the Constitution and must, therefore, bear the consequences.

All those who abetted the former president in the crime must also pay the price. Nobody is above the law. History is replete with examples where presidents, prime ministers and generals all have been brought to book for their crimes against humanity. General (retd) Musharraf’s indictment will have no affect on the morale of the army. What it will do is send a reminder that the Constitution cannot be violated without consequences.
