Behind bars: Police arrest five alleged militants, 500 other suspects

Five alleged militants and around 500 suspects were arrested by Mardan police in a search operation that has been ongoing in the entire district since last week.


DIG Mardan Saeed Wazir had ordered a crackdown in Mardan to rid the area of offenders, anti-state elements, gamblers, robbers and thieves.

Subsequently, the police raided hundreds of hideouts of offenders and arrested five alleged militants along with 500 suspects believed to be carjackers, robbers, kidnappers, extortionists, murderers and wanted criminals.
