US allocates $2bn for energy sector development under Kerry-Lugar bill, says Minister for Water and Power.

The United States has allocated a total of $2 billion for energy sector development in Pakistan under the Kerry-Lugar bill, Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said.
He was talking to journalists here after leading a Pakistani delegation in discussions on cooperation in the energy sector under the Pakistan-US strategic partnership, according to media reports.
He said that Islamabad has readied feasibility reports for projects up to 2014 while the US has also approved financing for rehabilitation of old power plants.
