Deputy secretary of National Assembly kidnapped in Multan

MULTAN:
Police have lodged a First Investigation Report (FIR) after unknown men kidnapped the deputy secretary of the National Assembly, Muazzam Ali Kaloro from Multan on Saturday.

Kalro was on holidays in Multan and was going to his farmhouse from his residence near the rural area Basti Malook.

He was near his farmhouse when five persons, veiled and armed, intercepted his vehicle . According to eyewitness statements, he was beaten with guns till he gave in to the kidnappers.

The kidnappers escaped towards the district of Muzaffargarh.


The FIR was lodged against five persons. SP Gulgasht Division Khalid Farooq told The Express Tribune that Moazzam Kalro was in his mangoes orchard when five people had arrived.

Three of them were in the car and two were riding the motorcycle. He resisted but eventually succumbed.

Initial investigations indicate the victim had no family enmity or differences with anybody.

Moazzam Ali Kalro is the close family relative of Akhtar Ali Kalro, vice chancellor NFC engineering and technology university in Multan. He had arrived late yesternight from Islamabad. He has three children.

The signals of his mobile phone were last traced near Omarpur village in district Muzaffargarh. Criminals escaped towards Kot Addu and onward to the Taunsa area.
