Security measures: Authorities decide not to advertise polio campaign in Karachi
Decision taken during emergency meeting convened to discuss security of vaccinators.

In the wake of recent attacks on health workers, authorities have decided not to announce or advertise the polio campaign in Karachi, Express News reported on Friday.
The decision was taken during an emergency meeting convened to discuss the security of those who carry out the vaccination campaign.
It was also decided that the teams will not work without security personnel.
All Pakistan Lady Health Workers Employees Association had made certain demands in the aftermath of an attack on polio team in Karachi’s Qayummabad neighbourhood which left two female polio workers dead.
The association demanded that the government must provide written clearance letters from the police, intelligence agencies and bomb disposal squads to assure the teams that a particular area is safe for a vaccination campaign.
It also demanded that the team workers injured across the country should be financially compensated.
