WASA disposal station made functional

This would resolve sewerage related complaints from the eastern parts of the city.

The Water and Sanitation Agency’s (Wasa) disposal station on Satiana Road started functioning on Wednesday.


Wasa Managing Director Syed Zahid Aziz visited the disposal station and said it had cost Rs90 million.

He said it had the capacity to discharge 85 cusecs of water.


The managing director said it would help resolve sewerage related complaints from the eastern parts of the city, including Chak 204-RB, Chak 215-RB, Madina Town, Khayaban Colony, Officers Colony, Dhuddiwala, Kehkashan Colony 1-2, Rasool Park, Edan Garden, New Garden Block, Noor Garden, Bukhari Town, Jaranwala Road, Tech Town and Malkanwala.



Filtration plant inaugurated at Borstal Jail

A state-of-the-art filtration plant was installed at Borstal Jail in Faisalabad on Wednesday to provide potable water to the inmates. Prisons DIG Mirza Shahid Saleem Baig formally inaugurated the water filtration plant and said “this plant was donated by the Spark Child Rights Committee to provide safe water to juveniles in the jail”.

Spark Child Rights Committee Regional Manager Sajjad Cheema, District Coordinator Farzana Chaudhary, Amina Ehsan, Majahid Gilani, Nausheen Najeeb and Shaukat Sultan But were also present.
