KARACHI:
As the gang war intensified in Lyari on Wednesday, police sources revealed that a woman and a child were killed in a rocket attack, reported Express News.

The feud between Uzair Baloch and Baba Ladla has resulted in intensified violence and last year alone the Lyari gang war claimed more than a hundred lives.

The sound of rockets and firing can be heard in various neighbourhoods of Lyari.

Ambulance drivers are reluctant to step in to help the victims as they fear being targeted themselves, reported Express News.

Bystanders killed

On January 18, a man and a woman were killed while over half a dozen others were wounded in a fresh wave of violence between rival groups in Lyari on Saturday.

According to sources, the intensity of the clashes increased when members of the Baba Ladla group tried to enter and occupy the stronghold of Ustad Taju, who is associated with Ladla’s rival gang — Uzair Baloch.

Though law enforcers recently claimed that they have apprehended over half a dozen suspects, they have been unable to stop or control the tense situation in the neighbourhood. The gangsters also attacked the police family quarters in Baghdadi.
