Industrial pollution: Factory owner summoned
The petitioners contended the court order was unlawful as the judge had not heard their case.

An additional district and sessions judge summoned pipe factory owner, Muhammad Javed Afzal, on February 10 in a criminal review petition stating that polluted water from the factory was affecting neighbouring houses.
Shahdara residents Muhammad Yasin and others filed a criminal review against a complaint by thefactory owner. He said the residents had beaten up factory employees. The judge passed an order for the prima facie offence.

They said they had submitted complaints against the owner of the pipe factory to WASA and the district coordination officer, among other departments. They said the water had caused diseases and damaged their houses.
They said a dengue fever survey team told them to promptly address the problem. They said the case against them was false.
