Acquaintance crime: ‘My colleague kidnapped my child’
The family said the kidnapper had demanded Rs200,000 ransom.

A five-year-old was kidnapped in Sadiqabad allegedly by her father’s co-worker, Saddar police said. Police said they were looking for the child and the suspect.
The family said the kidnapper had demanded Rs200,000 ransom.
The child’s father, a worker at a brick kiln in Chak 9-NP, claimed that his daughter was kidnapped by one of his co-worker at the brick kiln.
He said he and his wife were not home when the child was kidnapped and that the suspect knew about their absence. He said he had recognised his voice when he called him for the ransom.
Station House Officer Jam Manzoor said that police were looking for the suspect.
Kidnapping convict sentenced twice for life
Also on Tuesday, the anti-terrorism court judge in Bahawalpur sentenced a kidnapping convict for double life imprisonment.
Judge Nisar Ahmad, who found Sikandar Ali guilty of kidnap for ransom, also ordered the police to confiscate all of the convict’s property.
He ordered the police to arrest three more men, Sumra, Pehlwan and Ihsan, accused of helping Ali.
Police said the four men had kidnapped one Muhammad Tariq on May 6, 2012 at gunpoint from Rahim Yar Khan’s fruit and vegetable market. They had taken him to Sadiqabad. The victim’s brother had informed the police, who had recovered him during a raid.
