Quetta operation:Three kidnappers killed near Sariab Road

The area around Sariab Road was cordoned off during the five-hour long operation.

Three kidnappers were killed in Quetta in an operation near Sariab Road on Tuesday, reported Express News

The police had tracked down the kidnapping victim Rozi Khan through his cellphone and the operation began today around noon.

The operation resulted in a cross-fire between the kidnappers and police officials which left one police official, one Anti Terrorist Force (ATF) official and one passerby injured.

The injured were soon taken to the hospital.

The area around Sariab Road was cordoned off during the operation, which started at 12 pm and ended at 5 pm.

It was reported that there were five to six kidnappers in total, of whom three were killed.

Capital City Police official Abdul Razzak Cheema while speaking to Express News stated: "We don't know who the kidnappers are as yet, investigation is still ongoing and the bodies of the deceased are being moved to the Combined Military Hospital."

Can we now expect a detailed investigation and the culprits are brought before the court? This action will give a signal to others that such events cannot be tolerated. We have never seen people arrested and brought to trial. Why? Also their other collaborators should also be brought to trial.
