KARACHI:
At least 30 shops and several stalls were destroyed in a fire in Khyber Clothes Market in Banaras on Monday. It took the fire fighters more than five hours to get the fire under control and millions of rupees worth of cloth was destroyed. According to the fire department officials, the rescue workers faced problems due to narrow lanes, and the fire spread due to strong winds. The officials have not found the cause of the fire yet but they suspect that it was due to an electric short circuit. Pirabad SHO Abdul Moid has said that no case was registered as the fire broke out accidently.
