Fair warning: Teachers’ association goes on protest
If govt fails to accept their demands, they will hold an APC in Hyderabad on Jan 29, then start long march on Mar 3.
NAUDERO:
The Primary Teachers Association has chalked out a detailed programme of protests to press the government to accept their demands.
The association’s central secretary general, Liaquat Deedar, told the media on Monday that they have started a peaceful protest by holding a hunger strike. All primary teachers of Larkana and Sukkur divisions will gather at Garhi Khuda Bukhsh on January 23 to stage a large demonstration and will later march to Naundero House to stage a sit-in that will continue until their demands are met.
If the government failed to accept their demands, they will again hold an All Parties Conference in Hyderabad on January 29 and then start a long march on March 3 from Bhit Shah to Chief Minister House in Karachi, he warned. The teachers’ demands include giving all primary teachers in Sindh salaries worthy of pay scale-16, approving their son quota and time scale, and increase teaching allowance.
