Reaction: FCCI welcomes Indo-Pak trade talks

Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Suhail Bin Rashid said that acceleration of trade normalisation between India and Pakistan was highly appreciable.
He welcomed the development and said that the trade facilitation measures with regard to opening round-the-clock trade from Wagah-Atari border along with liberalisation of visa policy for businessmen will help to expand trade volume higher with its current status of $2.5 billion in 2012.
“If India and Pakistan manage to promote their trade, a huge market next to China could be created complementing each other’s economy,” he said, adding that both countries should share their expertise for mutual benefit.
He said that India, being advanced in Information Technology (IT), could share its expertise for promotion of IT Industry in Pakistan, while Pakistan could reciprocate in the textile sector.
