BAHAWALPUR:

“The general wards at Ahmadpur East tehsil headquarters hospital will be upgraded,” District Coordination Officer (DCO) Imran Sikandar Baloch said on Thursday.

Speaking at a meeting with Health Department officials at the hospital, Baloch said the district administration should utilise its resources to overcome the shortage of medicines at the hospital.

Member of provincial assembly Qazi Adnan Fareed told the DCO that the emergency ward at the hospital had been upgraded. He said a new ambulance had also been purchased through donations.

He said there was a shortage of insulin and rabies vaccine at the hospital.

The district coordination officer visited the emergency ward and the trauma centre.

He said he would visit the hospital every month to review the facilities being provided.

Baloch also directed the health executive district officer and Assistant Commissioner Ataul Haq to regularly visit the hospital.
