KARACHI:

A district and sessions court sent on Thursday a doctor on physical custody remand for four days for allegedly pushing down his domestic servant from the sixth floor of IBA Apartments in Clifton.

Dr Muneel was arrested for his alleged involvement in tossing down his 10-year-old servant, Haresh, from his apartment on January 14 after accusing the boy of stealing money from his house.

Police officers and the servant’s family are adamant that the boy was pushed by the doctor. On the other hand, medical practitioners and Dr Kumar’s family deny that the boy was pushed. If he was pushed from the sixth floor, he would have had died or at least broken some bones, they claimed.

A case, No. 28/14, under section 324 (attempted murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered against him at the Boat Basin police station.
