Tragedy: Four children die from ‘toxic food’

They were taken to Bahawal Victoria Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Four children died on Wednesday after what the family said eating poisonous food at their house in Nurpur village in Vehari.


Police said siblings Zahid, 9, Humaira, 7, Sumaira, 6, and Mujahid, 4, started throwing up after eating home-cooked food. They were taken to Bahawal Victoria Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Police said the family had refused to get post-mortem examination of the deceased children. Police said three families were living in the house. Police said Haq Nawaz, father of the deceased children, worked as a labourer in Saudi Arabia.
