KARACHI: All Sindh Primary School Teachers’ Association has warned the government that primary teachers may boycott election duties during the upcoming local bodies’ polls if the jobs of over 5,000 contractual employees are not made permanent. Around 500 people started their protest outside Karachi Press Club on Monday and later moved towards Chief Minister House as negotiations with the government officials failed. The teachers had demanded an improvement in their service structure on the pattern of Balochistan government as it allowed them to attain grade-14 after 15 years of service and grade-16 after 25 years. “Sindh government awards grade-11 after 15 years of service and grade-15 after 25 years,” said the vice-president of the association, Sikandar Jatoi.
