Four of a family killed in Chitral jeep plunge

Four members of a single family were killed and three others injured when a jeep plunged into a deep ravine near Junali Koch in Upper Chitral, police and rescue officials said on Tuesday.
The deceased included a husband, wife, their daughter and a sister. The tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the area as the victims' native locality plunged into mourning after news of the deaths spread.
According to police and Rescue 1122, the jeep was travelling from Barumkagh Kosht to Booni when it met with an accident on the way and fell into a deep gorge near Junali Koch.
As a result, four members of the same family, including women and children, lost their lives, while three others were injured.
Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the site immediately after receiving information and launched a rescue operation. With the help of local residents, rescue personnel retrieved the injured from the wreckage.
All the injured were shifted to Booni Hospital, where they are being provided medical treatment. The cause of the accident could not be immediately determined.
