In an incident of motorcycle snatching, robbers left an information officer (IO) critically injured and killed his young son. The incident happened late on Saturday night near Rangoon Wala Centre.
According to Qasimabad police, the IO Rafique Solangi and his son, 24 years old Zahid Solangi, were intercepted by three armed men riding a motorcycle
After being stopped, Zahid took one of the robbers by his neck, eliciting a violent reaction from the other two accomplices, who fired two shots at Zahid. Rafique was shot in his knee.
Rafique, who is currently posted in Hyderabad Regional Information Office, said his son got married less than a year ago. Zahid worked as a computer operator at the office of a government contractor. He was laid to rest at a graveyard in Barrage Colony area where the family lives.
An FIR of the incident has been registered on Javed Solangi’s, Rafique’s son, complaint nominating three unidentified killers.
