‘Cleanup’ drive: Police claim 64 arrests in slums
The operation was a continuation of search operations in slums and suburban areas.
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Police on Saturday arrested 64 suspects during a search operation in Ittefaq Colony, Dhoke Kashmirian and Mera Abadi in the jurisdiction of the Ramna Police Station. The police also recovered four motorcycles and a 30 bore pistol with ammunition from the suspects. Police teams headed by Superintendent Police (SP) Saddar Jameel Hashmi, Industrial Area SP Hassan Iqbal and sub-divisional police officers for Saddar Zone as well as Margalla and Ramna police stations conducted the search operation. The operation was a continuation of search operations in slums and suburban areas being carried out by the Islamabad Police since August 2013.
