SUKKUR:

Rail traffic between Sindh and Punjab was suspended for six hours when two coaches of the Karachi-bound Business Express derailed at the Rohri railway station on Saturday morning.

The two coaches derailed soon after it started its journey towards Karachi at about 4am, due to which both the up and down tracks were blocked resulting in the suspension of rail traffic between Sindh and Punjab. A few passengers received minor injuries in the incident, however, no casualty was reported.

The traffic resumed at about 11am. According to railway sources, the reason for the derailment might be the loss of some fish plates or a technical fault in the wheels of the coaches. They added that the train was travelling at a slow pace since it had just started moving away from Rohri Station, which is why the damage was minimal.
