Pumps reopen as CNG Association ends strike

All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) ended its strike against load shedding after Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi assured them that their demands will be addressed, Express News reported on Saturday.
The minister said the old schedule for CNG load shedding will be restored and invited representatives of the association to come to Lahore on Monday to discuss the issue further.
APCNGA chairperson Shabbir Suleman confirmed that the strike was over and all pumps had been opened. The opening of pumps resulted in queues of vehicles waiting to get CNG and also caused traffic jams in several areas.
Leaders of APCNGA and Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) had announced the strike on Friday evening at a joint press conference at the Karachi Press Club. The leaders had said that they are being forced to close CNG stations and take their vehicles off the roads.
