In memory: Locals protest taxi driver’s death

The protest was led by local political leader, Shah Wali Khan.

SWABI: Residents of Maneri, launched a protest against the killing of a taxi driver on Friday by blocking Jahangira-Swabi Road. The protest was led by local political leader, Shah Wali Khan, as they marched towards the main square in Swabi Bazaar and placed the body of the driver, Haider Khan, on the road. Wali Khan said that on January 7, unidentified men rented the car from Haider to go to Charsadda. His body was later found in a sugarcane field in Sardheri area of Charsadda. The vehicle was missing. Wali Khan said that they would protest till the police took action against the killing and arrested the culprits. The deceased was later buried in a graveyard in Maneri.
