MANSEHRA:

To express solidarity with slain Karachi cop Chaudhry Aslam Khan’s family, residents of his hometown Dodiyal on Friday observed a shutter down strike and took out a rally. The protesters blocked Karakoram Highway and demanded the arrest of the culprits behind Thursday’s incident in Karachi which killed CID SSP Khan.

Khan hailed from Dodiyal town of district Mansehra and belonged to the district’s second largest Swati tribe of Pukhtun origin. According to his family, Khan left for Karachi with his father Advocate Akram Khan when he was in grade 8 and after completing his college education joined the police force as an ASI in 1984.

Condemning his killing, local traders along with members of various political parties protested and suspended traffic for over an hour.
