Funeral prayers for Captain Yahya Abdul Samad, who was killed during a clash with militants in South Waziristan late Wednesday, were offered in Islamabad on Thursday.

He was laid to rest with full military honours, said a press release issued by ISPR.

A large number of military officials, relatives of the deceased and locals attended the funeral.

At least 10 militants and three army personnel, including Captain Samad were killed while fighting terrorists who attacked an army check-post in the restive tribal area.

The attack was  repulsed by the security forces and as many as ten terrorists were killed during the skirmish.

South Waziristan is one of the country’s seven semi-autonomous tribal agencies which is considered a major hub of militants plotting attacks in the country.
