Grievance handling: ‘The poor need the Ombudsman’

LAHORE: Office of the provincial ombudsman is the easiest way for a citizen to get relief from any provincial government department, an advisor to the Ombudsman told a meeting with visiting officers from the 41st Common Training Programme at the Civil Services Academy. He said a complaint to the Ombudsman did not require stamp paper, revenue tickets or a lawyer’s services. He said Ombudsman Javed Mahmood had introduced a number of initiatives to expediently address the complaints. His open door policy ensured easy access. He said the ombudsman also visited remote districts.
