LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Monday fixed January 18 to record the statements of prosecution witnesses against a Tehreek-i-Taliban member allegedly caught with 4kg hashish.

The judge had framed charges against the accused at a previous hearing. There has been no progress on this case for over two years as hearing was transferred several times. Shahdara police, in their FIR, said they had received information on February 8, 2010, that some terrorists were planning an attack against some American citizens.

Police had set up a picket at Saggian bridge and intercepted Abdul Bashir, Tehsil Khan, Abdur Rehman, Mohyuddin, Sakhi Shah and Dilawar Saeed and confiscated hashish, explosive jackets and hand grenades.
