A new report from the Los Angeles County coroner notes that Roger was driving at an unsafe speed on the road, which has a designated limit of 45 miles per hour. It is said that he lost control of the car for unknown reasons. After the car crashed into a tree and lamp post, it almost split in half and the majority of the remainders were charred by the fire that followed.
The report also states that neither Roger, 38, nor Paul, 40, had alcohol, cocaine, or any other impairing drugs in their systems. The actor died from the combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries, but a more comprehensive report lists several other injuries, including multiple bone fractures. Furthermore, the resulting fire caused by the smash was such that only remnants of the clothing Paul was wearing at the time were intact.
Walker’s jaw, collarbone, left upper arm, ribs and pelvis were fractured by the impact of the crash.
Still hurting from the loss of his friend, Paul’s co-star Vin Diesel posted a tribute alongside a photo of them together on Facebook. “There was always moments of child-like laughter. We had accomplished so much by 2013. P S: The complexities of brotherhood and the painful void of its absence,” he wrote.
Paul was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles on December 14. The actor left behind family, co-stars and thousands of fans devastated and saddened.
