OKARA:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif finally broke silence on Musharraf's treason trial, saying that the "Constitution is the real plaintiff in Musharraf case."

"Whether treason was committed or not, the court will decide."

Youth scheme kicked off in Okara

Nawaz was visiting Okara on Saturday to kick-start his youth loan scheme in the region. During the inauguration ceremony of the youth loan scheme in Okara, Nawaz spoke about how five million families will become the five million exporting units of Pakistan in the next five years, thanks to the scheme.

"Our target is to empower 500,000 young people from Pakistan in five years, thus giving strength to five million families for standing on their own feet and bringing a huge growth in our national GDP."

He further added that this was his 'dream'.

The prime minister stated that the youth of Pakistan should not waste this golden opportunity and should work towards creating a new prosperous Pakistan.

He has ensured transparency in this scheme and has claimed that there will be no discrimination based on caste, creed and sect.

"We will welcome open criticism on this scheme about its transparency and execution with complete fairness and devotion shown by the concerned officials."

According to Nawaz, individuals living in the 'rural and backward' areas of Pakistan will be given the opportunity to avail this loan rather than the metropolitan cities of Pakistan.

During his address in Okara, the premier encouraged the youth by saying that Pakistan needs their talent.

"The biggest asset today I have despite all the economic challenges is the youth of Pakistan which will turn this opportunity into a diamond for the country and for them."

Commenting on the criticism about the loan made by media channels, Nawaz added "this loan scheme will put the biggest barrier in the brain-drain from the country."

"The only way to come out of all problems is to start believing in your skills, your talent, your hard work," he added.

During the inauguration, Nawaz called all the applicants of the loan on stage and heard their problems. He then gave special instructions to national bank officials to resolve their problems.

He was received in Okara by various parliamentarians from the National Assembly including Chaudhary Arif and Ashiq Hussain Karmani.

Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar, Minister for Information Pervez Rasheed were also present at the inauguration.
