Health: Youth encouraged to eat organic food

Beaconhouse National University’s media studies students organised a seminar on the harmful effects of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) at their campus in Raiwind on Thursday. Speakers at the seminar stressed the value of organic food for sustainable health and well-being of young people. Amna Shakil said GMOs contribute significantly to obesity, diabetes and auto-immune problems. Sadia Salman, CEO of a diet centre that provides organic food and nutrition therapy, spoke about the value of transforming one’s routine to incorporate a healthy diet. Fatima Jahanzeb urged students in particular to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
