ISLAMABAD:

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui Thursday issued notices to Ministry of Interior (MOI), secretary Cabinet Division and Inspector General Islamabad Police asking them to inform on security measures taken for the protection of former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

A representative of MOI who appeared before the court said that the ministry has provided a bulletproof car and 16 security personals to the former CJP.

Praying to the court, a petitioner Sheikh Ahsanud Din said that the government is providing security to a person (referring to General Pervez Musharraf) who abrogated the constitution whereas the person who upheld it is being denied it.

The court adjourned the case till Friday (today).
