Road accident: Sensitive agency driver, two labourers killed
In the first incident, an intelligence agency official was killed in a hit-and-run accident at TNT Chowk Saddar.
RAWALPINDI:
Three persons including a sensitive agency official were killed in two separate incidents in Pindi during the last 24 hours.
In the first incident, an intelligence agency official was killed in a hit-and-run accident at TNT Chowk Saddar on Wednesday. Shahzad Ahmed Khan, working as a driver with a top intelligence agency, was riding a motorcycle (RIL 8431) when a speeding car (VX-060) driven by an unknown man hit him and fled, leaving him dead on the spot.
The local police said that efforts are being made to trace the car involved in the accident and its driver.
The deceased, who hailed from Pindi Gheb, was taken to General Headquarters Hospital for autopsy, the police added. Meanwhile, two labourers died after consuming certain herbal medicines on Tuesday.
The city police said that Muhammad Akhtar and Bakhat Zab, hailing from Shangla, allegedly consumed a doze of herbal medicines which caused their death. The labourers who worked at Bara Market in Rawalpindi were living in a rented flat in New Mohalla.
“We have started our investigation into the matter,” said an official. However, they apparently died after taking the herbal medicines, he stated.
