A father murdered his four-year-old son on Tuesday after his wife left for her parents’ home. The police in the area of Aroti police station said that Aasia Batool was married to Syed Kazim Shah, a resident of Mauza Kot Karam Shah and the couple had two children.
Over a domestic dispute two months ago, Aasia Batool left for her parents’ house with the elder son. The younger son remained with his father. Shah attempted to reconcile with his wife and requested notables of the area to intervene. However, Batool refused to live with Shah. After returning home, Shah assaulted his younger son with a sharp-edge knife. Police rushed to the spot and arrested Shah.
The SHO said Shah was an addict who frequently quarreled with his wife over money, at times this resulted in physical abuse.
