Cold wave: Miranshah witnesses snow after five years
Two to five feet of snow also fell in Shawal tehsil and Razmak subdivision, causing traffic jams.
After a lapse of nearly five years, snow fell in Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan, resulting in a dip in temperatures on Monday.
The snowfall began at 5am and continued for three hours in areas close to the Pak-Afghan border at Ghulam Khan tehsil, Saidgai, Bangi Dar and Miranshah. At least five to six inches of snow was recorded in said areas.
Two to five feet of snow also fell in Shawal tehsil and Razmak subdivision, causing traffic jams. Meanwhile, residents held a protest against prolonged power outages outside Miranshah Press Club. They threatened to block Miranshah-Ghulam Khan Road if load-shedding was not reduced.
