Family tragedy: Fire inside house injures seven
Family members recieved burn injuries when a fire erupted inside their house in Korangi.

Seven family members - a couple and their five children - recieved burn injuries when a fire erupted inside their house in Korangi. The incident took place on Saturday night, severely burning seven people inside their house situated in the slum of Korangi's Zia Colony. Police and rescuers reached the site and shifted the victims to the Burns Ward of the Karachi Civil Hospital for treatment. The injured couple was identified as 35-year-old Haroon and 30-year-old Shagufta while their five children, all under the age of 10, were identified as Hassan, Mahnoor, Dua, Hamza and Fatima. Korangi Industrial Area SHO Muhammad Ameen told The Express Tribune that the family had built a fire to avoid the cold. "The flames engulfed the house while the family slept," the officer explained. Three of the injured were declared to be in a critical condition.
