Law and order: ‘Fighting terrorism need of the hour’
MWM chief says corrupt officials would benefit from privatisation of state-owned enterprises.
LAHORE:
“The first 200 days of the federal government have been marked with increase in poverty and bloodshed,” Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri said on Sunday.
“The government has not done enough to curb price hike and terrorism,” he added. In a statement, he said high prices of basic commodities had made lives miserable.
He said corrupt officials would benefit from privatisation of state-owned enterprises.
He urged people to raise their voice against injustice. Jafri said, “Fighting terrorism is the need of the hour. Our rulers insist on talking to those who insist on killing innocents.” He said the poor law and order situation had driven away investors. He said by failing to act against terrorists, the government was showing its sympathies for extremist elements. He urged the government to call off talks with the Taliban.
