Cleaning the streets: Police kill notorious bandit in alleged encounter

The encounter took place on Sunday morning in the katcha area near Raunti situated in Ghotki.

SUKKUR:


A notorious bandit, who had a bounty of Rs500,000 on his head, was killed during an encounter.


His injured son, who was also arrested by the police, succumbed to his injuries at the Sukkur Hospital while undergoing treatment.

The encounter took place on Sunday morning in the katcha area near Raunti situated in Vasti Jeewan Shah police limits near the Ubauro district Ghotki. Police had a face-off with the bandit Ghulam Chachar aka Tango, during a routine patrol.

His gang members were reportedly hiding in the katcha in order to ambush passersby.

Police and gang members exchanged shots during which Tango was killed and his son Adam Chachar was critically injured. He later passed away at the hospital.

Police officials recovered two Kalashnikov rifles and ammunition from the suspects.
