QWP MPA arrested in attempts to intimidate police
MPA was attempting to free suspects arrested on suspicion of aerial firing during a wedding.

Police on Sunday arrested Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) MPA from Charsadda Sultan Muhammad Khan for interfering in legal matters and possessing illegal weapons, Express News reported.
According to details, police had arrested a few people on suspicion for aerial firing at a wedding last night and Sultan – along with his five supporters – came to the police station to get those arrested suspects released.
The MPA and his supporters stayed at the station for some time and also reportedly used intimidation tactics, after which the police arrested them and filed a case.
After the arrest of the MPA, QWP supporters staged a protest outside the police station. Security officers baton-charged the demonstrators and dispersed them.
Sultan had won the PK-18 seat Charsadda in the May 11 elections with 13,888 votes.
