LAHORE:
The first list of nominations has been displayed at the returning officers’ offices. A total 14,991 nominations were received in Lahore from December 22 to December 27. There were 1,522 nominations for chairman/vice chairman, 7,608 for general councillor, 2,031 for women councillor, 1,574 for peasant councillor, 1,288 for youth councillor and 968 for non-Muslim councillor. The scrutiny of nomination papers will begin on December 30 and continue till January 4. Appeals will be received on January 6 and 7. The appeals will be disposed of from January 8 till 11. Candidates can withdraw nominations by January 12. The final list of candidates and their symbols will be published on January 13.
