Property dispute: Woman granted bail

Woman is accused of sending threatening letters and making threatening phone calls to a family.

LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Friday granted pre-arrest bail till January 4 to a woman accused of sending threatening letters and making threatening phone calls to a family. The judge granted bail to Maryam Altaf against Rs50,000. The judge also sought police record by the said date. An FIR was registered by Ameer Ali at Gulshan Ravi police station under sections 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and 29 of Telegraph Act against Maryam Altaf. He said he had married Ayesah Altaf, Maryam’s daughter without her blessings. He said his in-laws had forged documents to deprive his wife of her share. He said his mother –in-law had written him and his wife threatening letters and had made several threatening phone calls.
