Former Balochistan governor's son booked for cinema guard's murder
The actual motive behind the murder has yet to be ascertained, while police have arrested all suspects.
KARACHI:
The stepson of Balochistan's former governor Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, was booked in a murder case in Karachi late on Friday.
Fabian Magsi was booked for the murder of a security guard, 35 year-old Asif, a resident of Shirin Jinnah Colony.
Asif was shot dead between the night of Thursday and Friday when he was performing his duty at the Neuplex cinema in DHA Phase VIII.
Police are yet to ascertain the actual motive behind the murder owing to differing accounts of the incident.
Earlier, it was reported that Asif’s colleague, Afsar Khan, had accidently opened fire, while trying to stop two young men from teasing female visitors at the cinema.
Another account of the incident related that Magsi shot the guard after he and his companion, Aurangzaib were stopped by guards while trying to enter the cinema without tickets.
Police have arrested all suspects including Khan, Magsi and Aurangzaib and have launched an investigation.
“The guard was killed by the firing of his fellow guard,” DIG District South Khalique Shaikh said after initial investigations. “We also included Fabian and his companion in the murder FIR as victim’s family approached the police to book both of them as well.”
On the other hand, SSP Faizullah Karejo told The Express Tribune that it has yet to be ascertained whether the accused persons were trying to enter the cinema without tickets or were teasing the girls, however, the police will conduct thorough investigations into the matter.
