Law and justice commission: NA committee approves amendments
Proposed amendments are in Sections 3 and 6 regarding qualification for appointment of a member of the commission.
ISLAMABAD:
National Assembly Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Human Rights on Thursday recommended approving amendments in the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill, 2013 in majority. The proposed amendments are in Sections 3 and 6 regarding the qualification for appointment of a member of the commission and the allocation of funds for federal and provincial judicial academies. According to the proposed amendment, four members, one from each province is to be appointed by the federal government on the recommendation of the chairman from amongst the persons who were or had been holders of a judicial or administrative office.
