Little master: Assistance for ailing Hanif Mohammad

Hanif, undergoing treatment in London, stated last week that he was forced to take loans of seven million rupees.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has assured former Pakistan cricket captain and legendary batsman Hanif Mohammad of financial assistance during his treatment for liver cancer.

Hanif, undergoing treatment in London, stated last week that he was forced to take loans of seven million rupees, according to the Press Trust of India.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) didn’t bother to inquire how I was managing things,” Hanif told reporters in Karachi at a reception held to celebrate his birthday, where he was presented Rs200,000 by an admirer.

“There is no respect or care for a sportsman once he retires in our country,” Hanif had said.

However, on Monday Hanif received a call informing him that the PM has directed the PCB and Pakistan Sports Board to look into the matter. “I am happy that our PM took out time to look into my case,” Hanif said.
