MULTAN: A man was killed and five others were injured in a collision between two buses near Vegetable Market here early Tuesday morning. Rescue officials said a Lahore-bound bus from Multan collided with another driving in the opposite direction on Vehari Road near Akhtarabad.

They said the accident had occurred due to poor roadway visibility. They said the conductor and the driver of the Lahore-bound were stuck in the wreck, which had to be cut to pull the two out. The conductor died on the way to the hospital. He was later identified as Khuda Bakhsh of Mianwali. Five injured people from both buses were taken to Nishtar Hospital, where doctors treating them said that they were in critical condition. They were identified as Muhammad Khan, Rabia Bibi, Muhammad Mumtaz, Asif and Saeed.
