New members: Finance minister reconstitutes EAC
The advisory council will have 19 members from different areas of expertise

Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday approved the reconstitution of the Economic Advisory Council (EAC). According to a statement of the finance ministry, the advisory council will have 19 members from different areas of expertise. The members include Dr Ishrat Husain, dean and director of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, Dr Ijaz Nabi dean, School of Humanities, social sciences and law LUMS, Abid Hasan, Farooq Rahmatullah belonging to the energy sector, Zubair Soomro from the banking sector, Shafqat Ali Jamoot agriculture sector, Arshad Zubairi from Business Recorder, Farrukh Qayyum, CEO Heart File Dr Sania Nishtar, Dr Ashfaq Hassan Khan, dean and professor from the field of economics from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Akbar Zaidi, Muslahuddin from Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), Furrukh Saleem, Dr Abid Qayyum Suleri from Sustainable Development Policy Institute, Saqib Sherani, deputy chief executive microeconomics insight, CEO Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund Qazi Azmat Essa, Chairman Board of Investment Mohammad Zubair, Governot State Bank of Pakistan Yaseen Anwar and FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa.
