Still missing: Police fail to make any headway in kidnappings of four IBA employees
Asadullah Mangi was on way to Sukkur from Jacobabad along with three others but never arrived at his destination.
SUKKUR:
The police have failed to find any clues regarding the kidnapping of four Institute of Business Adminstration (IBA) Community College, Jacobabad, employees, including its principal, despite the lapse of four days.
Last Saturday, his principal Asadullah Mangi was on way to Sukkur from Jacobabad along with lecturer Syed Tahir Shah, accountant Zahid Jokhio and driver Anwar Jamali but never arrived at his destination.
According to Abdullah Mangi, the principal’s younger brother, Asadullah was in contact with his family after leaving Jacobabad on Saturday evening, but lost contact in the remits of the Humayoon police station in Shikarpur, situated at the border of Jacobabad and Shikarpur districts.
Avoiding responsibility
The car belonging to Asadullah was found abandoned near the new bus terminal situated in Abad police limits, Sukkur, on Monday night. Sources claim that a policeman drove this car to a new bus terminal and left it there. Jacobabad SSP Malik Zafar Iqbal insists that the kidnapping took place outside the limits of his district, claiming that, according to the data received from mobile towers, these persons were kidnapped from the limits of Humayoon police station.
Shikarpur SSP Abdul Azeem Tunio, however, said that there was no indication that the person was kidnapped from the Humayoon police station area. He said their car was found from the limits of Sukkur police and according to the orders of Sindh IGP, in kidnapping for ransom cases, the police need to register a case within the jurisdiction where the vehicle of the kidnapped is found. “Since the car was found within the limits of Sukkur police, they should register a case at the respective police station and start investigating, but so far, nothing they have done.”
Sukkur SSP Syed Fida Hussain Shah also claimed that Asadullah Mangi and his colleagues were kidnapped from the limits of Humayoon police station, Shikarpur. He alleged that the Shikarpur police drove the car into Sukkur police to avoid investigating the case.
