Shake-up ends with fresh army postings

In a major reshuffle in the military top brass, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday approved several high-level command postings.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt General Javed Iqbal was appointed as Bahawalpur corps commander. Similarly, Lt Gen Zamirul Hasan was posted at GHQ in Rawalpindi as adjutant general.
Meanwhile, Lt Gen Obaidullah Khattak was posted as army strategic force commander while Lt Gen Ikramul Haq was appointed inspector general training and evaluation – the post that was previously occupied by COAS Gen Raheel Sharif.
The official statement said that Lt Gen Muhammad Zahid Latif was appointed as commander army air defence. Lt Gen Tariq Gilani was posted as chief of logistics (CLS) at the GHQ, a position that was occupied by Lt Gen Haroon Aslam, who recently resigned.
With these high-level postings, the process of major reshuffle, which was due following the change of command in the army, is now finally complete.
